English: Northway
This photograph of Northway (ahead) shows a traffic roundabout (on the right) at the Westborough-Northway crossroads. To the left is the Odeon cinema showing 'another triumph for Julie Andrews' (possibly the film Star!). The obelisk on the right is seen in its original setting in the centre of the traffic island. When the traffic island was removed to make way for traffic lights the obelisk was moved nearby to site in Westborough. The obelisk was in fact a ventilation pipe for public lavatories that were under the roundabout and which were accessed via a subway.
