Summary

[edit]
Description

Northrop F-5E Tiger II 74-1556 "Red 56" of the 10th TFW, 527th Tactical Fighter Training Aggressor Squadron based at RAF Alconbury, Huntingdonshire. This unit simulated Russian aircraft for combat training, and left the UK in 1987. They used various different styles of camouflage copying those worn by Warsaw Pact and Soviet frontline aircraft and this one was known as 'snake'. 74-1556 was eventually preserved at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, McMinnville, Oregon.
