Summary
[edit]DescriptionNorthern end of Lough Inchin - geograph.org.uk - 1304225.jpg |
English: Northern end of Lough Inchin There are alleged to be 365 loughs in County Cavan - one for every day of the year. Although probably an exaggeration, there are certainly a huge number of loughs nestling between the drumlins throughout the Irish lakeland centred on Cavan but extending to adjoining counties.
Although not identified as such on the map, its seems likely that the cluster of trees in the middle of the lough marks the site of a Crannog, or early lake dwelling. |
