Description
English: Route of the Northern Railway of Canada, some time in the 1890s. The original mainline runs from Toronto to Barrie, and then to Collingwood. The extension of the original line from Collingwood to Meaford is the North Grey Railway. The short branch from outside Barrie to Penetang was the North Simcoe Railway. The long extension from Batty to North Bay is the Northern and Pacific Junction Railway.
