DescriptionNorthern Pearly-eye (Enodia anthedon).jpg |
Frozen Head Natural Area and State Park, Morgan County, Tennessee, USA. 28 August 2007. I was walking down to the creek when I saw a group of pipevine swallowtails gathered on the side of a hemlock tree. The light color of this butterfly on the dark bark caught my eye. The antennal clubs are black, not orange as in the southern pearly-eye. This is a new park and county record.
