[edit]DescriptionNorthern Constabulary Pipe Band leading Torchlight Procession Inverness Scotland (2189787594).jpg |
The Band leads the 2007 Highland Year of Culture Finale parade along Huntly Street Inverness. Other musical groups were sited along the route, including the Isle of Skye Pipe Band who played the procession past at Waterloo Bridge and then followed on, and Ullapool and District Pipe Band who were at the New Harbour entrance. The scale of the procession was such that Skye PB - at the tail end of the parade when it left Grant Street - were in the middle of it by the time they reached the New Harbour, where Ullapool PB joined the end. It was 30 minutes after we reached the Kessock Bridge venue (where Ross & Cromarty Pipes & Drums School Pipe Band and Dingwall RBL Pipe Band had been playing for the crowds there) before the other two Bands in the procession could join up with us! ... and it was very, very cold!!! (especially walking backwards, as I was!!) |
