The Band finishes off their tune in the foyer, having played out of the Banqueting suite. NORTHERN CONSTABULARY COMMUNITY PIPE BAND was proud to perform (Friday 13th Nov) at the HIGHLANDS & ISLANDS TOURISM AWARDS 2015 at the New Drumossie Hotel, Inverness. The band first lyplayed outside to welcome the arriving guests -and although the weather threatened to be dire, it stayed remarkably un-wet (albeit bitterly cold). We were able to muster 11 pipers (plus another indoors) and five drummers, and the sound was rather good despite the weather. While the rest of the band then quickly regrouped (got inside, dried out, warmed up and re-tuned) Iain Caimbeul played for the guests as they entered the dining room, and then (smaller band due to restricted space available) the band entered and joined in with Iain to give the guests a rousing start to the event. Many thanks to all the players who managed to attend - coming from as far as Badenoch, Nairn and Black Isle. |
