Summary

[edit]
Description

Such was the level of entries that some of the Classic Vehicles had to park up in High Street - and the Band divides into two lines to pass the line, before taking up position at the Town Hall end of High Street to play the entire parade through.

PART 1 - TODAY (Saturday 14th May 2016) the Band was privileged to be invited to participate in two very different but both special events in the City of Inverness.

First, we played for the Inverness BID Parade of Classic Vehicles through Inverness High Street - as ever this was a lovely community event, bringing hoards of people into the City Centre to see the very impressive array of preserved wheeled vehicles of every type.

The Band has always been delighted to support this auspicious event, and we gratefully appreciated the many complimentary remarks bestowed upon the Band and its sound, appearance and professionalism.

We were delighted to field a sizeable band of 16 pipers and six drummers - and instead of joining the pipe corps today, piper Alan Hasson agreed to take on the mantle of Drum Major as none of our three Drum Majors were able to attend - and he carried it off with aplomb!

Although the sun stayed away quite a bit - and my photos suffered as a result (excuses, excuses!) it stayed dry and it was really good to see such a fine turn-out, both of entrants and spectators.
