Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This is a Northern Water Snake (Nerodia sipedon) found in Michigan. It is non-venomous and actually a very beneficial snake. However, it is often mistaken as venomous and killed. They have a number of color morphs, this one is quite dark with the banding more visible in the water. When startled, this snake will run from you into the water. It is very non–confrontational.
