Summary

[edit]
Description The north side of the old Bates Bridge, a Warren through truss bridge with bascule draw span in Groveland, Massachusetts, that was built in 1913–14. It carried MA 97/MA 113 across the Merrimack River. It was replaced in 2014 by a new bridge, about 60 feet north of the old bridge (which was dismantled after the new bridge opened). Old and new satellite photos show that the new bridge passes through the spot where the photographer was standing when taking this 2010 photo.
