| Description |
English: North Weald Crash Gate This is Crash Gate G of North Weald aerodrome. North Weald has been active as an airfield since it was opened in 1916 to counter Zeppelin raids on London. The base was operational from 1916 until 1958 it was decommissioned as a military base in 1964. Now Boreham TL7412 is being destroyed by gravel extraction North Weald is probably the best preserved of the wartime airbases in Essex, it is home to many classic aircraft see TL4804. There is a memorial to those who served here at 268896 |
