Description
English: St John the Baptist churchyard, North Luffenham, Rutland. The parish is associated with the RAF. North Luffenham airfield was built 1939-1941 and used by Bomber Command. The airfield closed in 1998 and passed to the British Army. The churchyard has a substantial group of war graves managed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Most are of Canadian airmen but there are also some Poles. There is also a number of post war graves of servicemen who died while stationed at RAF Luffenham.
