English: North Hill RSPB nature reserve. Looking from the entrance to the reserve up to a hide. The sign says that "North Hill is Britain's largest and best-preserved area of maritime heath. ... Heathers, crowberry and creeping willow dominate, with flowering plants such as the Scottish primrose, found only in Orkney and a few sites on the north coast of mainland Scotland."
Oystercatchers, arctic terns, eider, black guillemots, and skuas are all important birds for the reserve. |
