| Description |
English: Built in 1910, this Gothic Revival-style mixed-use building stands on an irregularly-shaped piece of land at the corner of North Clark Street and Waveland Avenue in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. The building features a buff brick facade with triangular arches, a corner turret with decorative banded limestone trim, corbeling meant to resemble machicolations with long extruded brick pilasters, terminating at composite capitals, which extends along the facades facing Waveland Avenue and North Clark Street, limestone trim at the storefront, with fluted doric pilasters, decorative trim under the smaller windows of the North Clark Street facade, and decorative pressed metal window lintels over the larger windows. The building features a retail space on the first floor, formerly home to bars and currently home to a Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers fast food restaurant, with an apartment unit on the second floor. |
