Summary
[edit]DescriptionNorth Charleston opens largest fire station (24679922441).jpg |
North Charleston opened the city's largest fire station on January 28, 2016. The 18,000 sq ft, two-story fire station houses three fire companies and combines two formerly separate stations, Fire Station 2 (previously on the former navy base) and Fire Station 8 (previously at the corner of Carner Avenue and Meeting Street Road). Housing two engines and one aerial apparatus, the new station is designated as Fire Station 2. The site for the new station sits adjacent to a future city park near Military Magnet Academy.
