Description
English: U.S. Air Force North American F-100 Super Sabre of the 481st Tactical Fighter Squadron, 27th Tactical Fighter Wing at Da Nang Air Base, Vietnam, 9 March 1965. Identifiable aircraft are:
  • North American F-100F-10-NA Super Sabre (s/n 56-3836). This aircraft was retired on 26 September 1979 and later converted to a QF-100F;
  • North American F-100D-90-NA Super Sabre (s/n 56-3334). It was shot down by ground fire over South Vietnam on 21 July 1965. The pilot ejected and was rescued by a U.S. Army helicopter.
