Description

This is a south-bound, Norfolk Southern Railway (NS) freight train at Marion, Ohio on 17 November 2018. The train was headed by two engines: NS # 1106 and General Electric Company (GECX) # 7872.

The lead unit, NS # 1106, is a General Motors Electro-Motive Division SD70ACe diesel locomotive. It was built in February 2014.

The second unit, GECX # 7872, is a General Electric CW40-8. It was built in February 1993. It originally saw service as Chessie-Seaboard Expanded (= CSX Transportation) # 7872. It still bears a CSX paintjob (notice that a black bar is crossing out "CSX" on the body of the engine), but "GECX" is stenciled in white on the cab.
