Description
English: Kodak 64 Slide film, compact camera. A scanned print from a different angle of the same tram is here. In the background an articulated Ikarus bus and a Delikat store. An early evening tram waits at Arnoldplatz. Nordhausen had an attractive fleet of yellow DDR made cars. This was a side route to Altentor along which the tram depot lay. The Tramway celebrated its centenary in 1900. The main north-south route was served by equally attractive articulated cars in a similar GDR style. These single cars were double ended, and could operated without a turning circle.

One of these trams has been preserved by the undertaking, Stadtwerke Nordhausen... shown here in the same livery with centenary celebration graphics. gothawagen/staedte/nordhausen

Unfortunately, No 46 did not survive. This T57 Gotha car from 1959 arrived in Nordhausen from Gera. It was withdrawn in 1992 and spent some time as a school bisto before being scrapped.
