Description
English: Caryatid fountain with porphury crown. The figure is identified as Diana by the gilded crescent moon set above the porphyry and gilded crown imperial. The marble was probably in the Grove of Diana. Pen with grey wash and red veining, dark red marbling, and gold leaf (1590), artist unknown; from The Red Velvet Book, f.36r.
