Description
Norsk bokmål: Utsikt over Arpa-dalen med den nye dammen i bakgrunnen, umiddelbart før åpningen av kanalen. I forgrunnen fra venstre: sekretæren Vidkun Abraham Lauritz Jonssøn Quisling, folkekommissæren for landbruket Ersingian og ingeniør Jakimov (som kjente Fridtjof Nansen fra Sibir-reisen i 1913). Ett av bildene fra reisen gjennom Armenia i perioden 7 juni til 2 juli 1925. På anmodning fra Det Internasjonale Arbeidsbyrå (ILO) og Folkeforbundet reiste Fridtjof Nansen sammen med en utpekt kommisjon sakkyndige for å besøke landet og undersøke planer for kunstig vanning av ørkenområder med tanke på å overføre armenske flyktninger dit.

Eines der Bilder von der Reise durch Armenia im Zeitraum 7. Juni bis 2. Juli 1925. Auf Aufforderung des Internationalen Arbeitsbüros (ILO) und dem Völkerbund reiste Fridtjof Nansen zusammen mit einer ausgewählten Kommision Fachleuten zu einem Besuch im Lande um die Pläne für künstliche Bewässerung der Wüstengebiet zu untersuchen. Die Idee war, armenische Flüchtlinge dorthin zu überführen.
