Norsk bokmål: Fridtjof Nansen kryper over en usikker «snebro» over de store sprekkene i isen (breen).
English: Fridtjof Nansen is crawling across an unsafe «snowbridge» across the large crevises in the ice (glacier). He is posing in the photographer's studio. Because he himself had taken all the photos during the Greenland Expedition, illustrations that showed Fridtjof Nansen in action had to be reconstructed. These were to be used in the book about the crossing of Greenland.
