Norsk bokmål: Eduard von Toll, baron, russisk geolog og polarforsker, foretok reiser i Sibir og på De nysibirske øyer 1885 og 1893 - på den siste reisen la han ut to depoter for Fridtjof Nansen. 1900-1902 ledet han en større vitenskapelig ekspedisjon til De nysibirske øyer med skipet «Sarja» (tidl. norsk selfangstskip «Harald Haarfager»). Han forsvant høsten 1902 under et forsøk på å dra sørover fra Bennetøya.
English: Eduard von Toll, baron and Russian geologist and arctic researcher, travelled in Siberia and on the New Siberian Islands in1885 and 1893. On his last trip he put out two depots for Fridtjof Nansen. Between 1900 and 1902 he headed a large scientific expedition to the New Siberian Islands with the ship Sarja (formerly the Norwegian seal hunting ship «Harald Haarfager»). He disappeared the fall of 1902 during an attempt to go south from Bennet Island.

Er unternahm Reisen in Sibirien und den neusibirischen Inseln und legte Depots für Fridtjof Nansen aus. 1900-1902 leitete er eine grössere wisschenaftliche Expedtion zu den neusibirischen Inseln mit dem Schiff ³Sarja² (früheres norwegischen Robbenfangschiff ³Harald Haarfager²). Er verschwand im Herbst 1902 bei einem Versuch von der Bennetinsel südwärts zu gehen.
