Nixon Theatre Built 1903

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Exterior view, Nixon Theatre, 425 Sixth Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Opened 1903; last performance in 1950 and then demolished. Named for Samuel F. Nixon-Nirdlinger, owner of a chain of theaters. Replaced by the Alcoa Building, later "Regional Enterprise Tower". (This Nixon Theatre should not be confused with the theater of the same name that stood on Liberty Avenue at Grant Street, which took on the "Nixon" name in 1950 and closed in 1975.)
