iwey of tby merchandise; and they shall break downthy walls and destroy thy pleasant houses ; and they shall lay thystones and thy timber and thy dust in the midst of the water.- On a fragment of a slab, which was found at Khorsabad, is pre-served a portion of a very admirable group, consisting of a Groomleading Two Horses, which may serve for a good specimen of themanner, in which the Assyrians were in the habit of decoratingtheir horees, and of the peculiar furniture which they used forthat purpose. The trappings are equally rich and elegant; plumeswave over their heads, and crests, fancifully formed, rise gracefullyin an arch over their beads, and descend in front to the nostrils.Another slab, of which a fragment has been preserved, and is inthe Museum, represents the beardless Head of the Eunuch whois usually in attendance on the gxeat king, and who carries theflj-flapper in his hand. In the castles of the maritime people, who are depicted uponthe bas-reliefs from Koyunjik, we notice a number of shields,which are hung round the walls. There is a curious illustration Ezekielj xxvi. 7—r2.
