Description

Door de ramen van het perron heb je goed zicht op de nieuwe brug De Oversteek, is een oeververbinding over de Waal in de gemeente Nijmegen, die zich ten westen van de bestaande Nijmeegse bruggen bevindt.

Ter herinnering aan de Waaloversteek in 1944 door de 82e Luchtlandingsdivisie zullen de brug en de weg er overheen de naam 'De Oversteek' dragen. Hoewel de gemeenteraad de naam op 10 juni 2009 heeft vastgesteld, wordt ook de werknaam Stadsbrug nog steeds gebruikt.

De brug is noodzakelijk om de uit 1936 stammende Waalbrug aan de oostzijde van de stad te ontlasten.
