Description |
English: Nicholas Pocock, 1740-1821 (self-portrait) An informal self-portrait drawing of the marine painter Nicholas Pocock in middle life, perhaps made around 1790 after he had moved from Bristol to London. This drawing may have been made using a mirror on the paper that Pocock is shown holding, which might suggest that he was left-handed though more evidence for this would be needed. |
