Ngome Comfort Ikoma or simply "El Komandante" Ngome Ikoma' is the artistic name of the Tanzanian artist formally known as Sanni Ikuti, Ngome means in Swahili the fortress, actually the name comes from the military base wild park in serengeti named Fort Ikoma.“ As a child we passed there and retreated a night, I loved the place, I remember we ate deer beef, rice and beans, my family and other family of friends,” Ngome said he decided to use the name because it is more familiar with a strong base that accommodates his ideals of the nation and the people. Ngome was born Gamier Mwaikoma, ( 1978-) last in the family of six,, and said there is something mysterious that followed our family, I can’t explain what..,becoming an artist was a rebellion, since my father was a Pastor of a local church and a textile technician, who followed the American preacher man purported to be the Prophet of this century-21th - William Marrion Branham.

Once referred to as A militant and revolutionary Tanzanian Poet..,Ngome follows the trend of Tanzanian Jazz Musician, mixing poetry recitations, drums, saxophone and guitars more of a cultural activist and a very gentle person whose battle ground is in his poetry.
