Description

GSMNP Backcountry Campsite 27, near the confluence of Newt Prong and Jakes Creek in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Blue Ridge Mountains, eastern Tennessee.

  • The Jakes Creek Train Wreck of 1909 occurred in the vicinity.
  • Just off camera to the right is a spur trail with an old skidder cable sticking out of the ground.
