Oregon State Representative David Gomberg, co-chair of the Committee on Transportation and Economic Development, helped dedicate a new sign in Newport that reads, “Boston MA 3,365 miles.” “We’ve got the longest continuous highway in America. That’s something most people don’t know and something we can be proud of.” After the Newport sign was posted on November 23, Newport City Councilor Dean Sawyer contacted the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to suggest a similar sign for the east most point of the road. Both signs were dedicated on December 8. |
