| Description |
English: Newport Library This curious building has a chequered history. The battlemented masonry arch on the right is a relic of a previous building which collapsed into the street. The ruins were an eyesore in Newport High Street for years, while lawyers wrangled over who should pay to rebuild it. At last the local authority took a hand and the present, hybrid structure was erected to house the library. |
