English: Newport Bridge and the Usk at low tide The view upstream along the River Usk from the centre of the river footbridge.
The extent of the mud banks at low tide illustrates the large tidal range along the lower reaches of the Usk. During many high tides, the mud banks are completely covered by the river. On the left of Newport Bridge is the Steel Wave. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/594838 On the right are the Clarence House office block https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1451184 and the former Arts College undergoing conversion to residential units. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1565002 |
