The mark of favor fromthe King is pleasing to the people of Newfoundland, who regardSir Robert Bond as one who has faithfully served him, and eventhose who may differ from him as to the merit of his views onthose public questions with which for the past ten years hisname has been identified, all are prepared to accord to him themerit of being at least himself convinced that he was right. Ifeel certain that Sir Robert Bonds many friends in Canada willrejoice with him in this his latest fortune.
