Description

Newcold warehouse, Stanley, Wakefield. This is a large, automated cold storage warehouse. The head office of this company is in the Netherlands, and as of 2023 it had 15 branches worldwide. {Source of information: Newcold website}

The significance of this very large, shed-like building is its ability to blend in with the grey skies of Yorkshire, so that it almost disappears on dull, grey days, when viewed from a distance. Although it is clearly seen when in close proximity, its outer surface still bears an ethereal quality.
