Summary
[edit]DescriptionNewbury railway station, Berkshire (geograph 7116285).jpg |
English: Newbury railway station, Berkshire Opened in 1847 by the Great Western Railway on what is now the line from Reading to Taunton, the station was rebuilt in 1910 to create through express tracks between the platforms. View east towards Newbury Racecourse and Reading, from a similar position to SU4766 : Newbury railway station, Berkshire, 2009. The Lambourn bay platform used to be to the left, now the site of a multi-storey car park. Meanwhile, the 2018 footbridge, signal gantries and electrification masts now obscure much of the station from view. |
