the railroad deck on top there is a separatedeck below for vehicular and passenger traffic. The second deckis 230 feet above the surface of the water. The arch span is 550feet. The bridge is owned by the Grand Tnmk Railway Co. Thefare (walk or ride) is 10 cents round trip. Lewiston-Queenston Suspension Bridge—Spans the river atthe foot of the Queenston and Lewiston escarpments where thecountry on both sides of the river flattens into beautiful orchardsand vineyards on both sides of the river. It was built for theaccommodation of trolley cars traversing the Niagara Belt LineRoute, one of the most interesting scenic rides in America. Thepresent bridge is the second to span the river at this point. Thelirst bridge was opened to traffic in 1850 and was blown down bya hurricane in 1864. The present structure was opened to thepublic in July. 1899. It is 60 feet above the river and 840 feetlong. It is owned by the International Railway Co. The fare(walk or ride) is 10 cents round trip. 14
