The Conard & Jones Company, West Grove, Pa.
New Crimson
-Clienille Plant
(Acalypha Sandcri or Comet Plant)
THIS cut is a representation of the plant as it
really appears, and is not at all overdrawn.
It grows 10 to 12 inches high, blooms
quickly and abundantly, and the flower tassels
grow as long as the plant is high. They are
covered all over with fine crimson flowers, look-
ing almost exactly as if made of crimson chenille
or silken plush. The plant likes heat and moist-
ure, and good rich soil, but grows easily and
blooms so quickly that many are beginning to
flower when sent out. When warm weather
comes, set out in the flower bed. and it will
grow the whole season. A most surprising Fall
novelty and a great curiosity. Sti'Oiig' Plants,
15, 20 and 25 cts., "postpaid. Extra
size, 35 and 40 cts. eacb, by express.
Cissus Discolor
or CLIMBING BEGONIA
Not a true Begonia, but an elegant vining
window plant, having as richly colored foliage
as the finest Painted Leaf Begonias. Has long
heart-shaped leaves with a rich metallic lustre.
Acalyplia Sanderi, or Comet Plant. Exquisitely marked in different shades of silver
and bronze green, beautifully veined with red, the under side being dark, rich crimson. Extra fine for
window boxes, vases and pots, and when given a small trellis a foot or two high for support, soon makes
a parlor plant of almost unequalled beauty. It likesheat and moisture, and may be kept growing all the
time or dried off and rested when desired. Strong' Plants, 15 and 20 ctS. each, postpaid.
New Passion Flower
Southern Beauty
(AMERICA)
Unlike most other Passion Vines, this
splendid new variety, besides being ex-
quisitely beautiful, is a strong \-igorous
grower and entirely hard.-; will climb up
a trellis 10 to 20 feet high in a season, and
cover it all over with splendid wreaths
and clusters of large handsome flowers
and foliage. The flowers are four to five
inches across, and the color is an elegant
combination of red, white and blue shades, so
entirely unique and striking, that they attract
attention at once. The form of the flowers,
though much reduced in size, is well
shown in the engraving, and as the foli-
age is handsome also, it can be recom-
mended as one of the choicest and most
beautiful hardy flowering vines now of-
fered. In very exposed situations, the
roots should have a covering of leaves or
litter before severe freezing; they can
then remain in the ground over Winter
and will bloom every season for years.

GOOD STRONG ROOTS, 20 cts. each; 3 for 50 cts.; $1.50 per dozen, postpaid.

Public domain

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
