Summary
[edit]DescriptionNew construction along the riverside - geograph.org.uk - 1259851.jpg |
English: A view of the Sir Bobby Robson Bridge over the River Orwell (the tidal stretch of the River Gipping), in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. It's a cable-stayed bridge for both pedestrians and cyclists. Viewed from the north here, it connects the town on the east bank with the new Voyage development on the west bank. It's 61m long and supported by that single 35m high pylon. Opened in August 2009, it was named in honour of Sir Bobby Robson who was manager of Ipswich Town F.C. from 1969 until 1982, guiding them to success in the 1981 UEFA Cup Final. See the category for full details. |
