After the nurses four visits the doctor callsuntil the case is dismissed, which is usually the tenth or eleventh dayin a normal case. We have three graduate nurses in this department. One graduatehas entire charge, one assistant makes the majority of the out-door callsand when necessary she is assisted by a pupil nurse. Henry StreetSettlement provides a colored nurse for the care of the colored patients. The childrens clinic is for the care and treatment of the babies.It is open every day between the hours of ten and twelve, exceptingSundays and holidays. The average cases are from fifteen to thirty daily. The Gynecological clinic is open two days each week on Wednesdays 38 and Fridays from two to four. To the President and Board of Directors: VERY year I am more and more inclined to emphasize theword THE in the name of The Charity Ball because thenumber of our competitors increases and there are now somany Balls given for charitable purposes, that I fear lest attimes the public may forget our historical and semi-civic pre-eminence. During the ninety days of intensive work in preparation for ourBall of February 5th, 1914, we all expected that the depressing financialconditions then prevailing would result in a reduced attendance andreduced receipts. This anxiety caused the Committee and especially the men on theFloor Committee and Charity Ball Society to redouble their efforts inthe nature of personal reminders sent to a multitude of their friends. The result of our united efforts was that our attendance was thelargest of which we have any existing record—being 3,008 by count ofthe tickets received and our net receipts also exceeded all prev
