Annual Report of the President To the Members of the Hospital: It is a great responsibility to be one hundred years old. Theinstitution that has served women in labor for more yearsthan any other in the city and that was the pioneer childrenshospital in America has a high standard to maintain. It mustnot merely keep up with the times, it must lead them. The progress made by this hospital in the last decade augurswell for such leadership, but we have about reached the limitwithout new sinews. This brief account of our recent activities,present conditions, and problems to be met will make this plain. I Medical Work The Laboratories for Childrens Diseases. In this con-nection I am glad to announce the return to us as Director ofour Childrens Service of Dr. Oscar M. Schloss. Two yearsago Dr. Schloss left New York to become Professor ofPediatrics at the Harvard Medical School. To further hiswork, we have remodeled the quarantine building into a completeresearch laboratory for childrens dis
