Report of the Executive Committee To the President and Board of Directors : T THE close of our last fiscal year the Executive Committeeand all others interested in the Hospital were greatly concernedover finances. The high cost of all hospital supplies in addition to the increased cost of the ordinary necessities of life had produced a deficit which was most alarming. The financial crisis was compli-cated by the fact that at no time had the services that the Hospital was ren-dering to those appealing to it for aid been at a higher level. To diagnosethe emergency, a Special Committee consisting of Messrs. Munroe, chair-man, Moore, Boucher, Blagden and Roosevelt, was appointed to investigateand report within 30 days on a plan to bring the work of the Hospital withinits income. This Committee interviewed the officers of the corporation, thesuperintendent and members of the Executive Committee, and in December.1920, it reported recommending: (1) that no work be curtailed; (2) thaithe supe
