Report of the President To the Members oe the New York Nursery and ChildsHospital : THE VARIOUS reports appended hereto show the detailsof our work. I shall not attempt to repeat them. Thereare, however, one or two matters to which particularattention should be drawn. This year finishes the first century of the work of thisHospital. On April 29, 1823, a number of ladies of this city,aided by several doctors, met at No. 35 Courtlandt Streetand organized the Female Asylum for Lying-in Women.The Hospital was incorporated in 1827 and was later consoli-dated with the New York Infant Asylum. Plans to commem-orate our hundredth birthday are under way. Part of the Staten Island property has been sold. The CharityBall was again a great success. Attention should also becalled to the efforts of the Social Service Committee to providefunds for its special work in superintending a benefit perform-ance of Thais at the Metropolitan Opera House.
