DescriptionNew York Mountains Road 2.jpg |
New York Mountains Road east of Caruthers Canyon, Lanfair Valley and Piute Range visible in distance, Mojave National Preserve, southern California (northeastern San Benardino County). Note: Caruthers Canyon is near the southwest terminus of the New York Mountains (east side). New York Mountain Road is a 5-8 mi long road to the mountain; it connects at the east with a 5-mi stretch of Ivanpah Road to Lanfair, California. Lanfair is near the valley center of Lanfair Valley. The drainage of Lanfair Valley is ~10 miles east at the foothill perimeter of the Piute Range, a due-south section of the Sacramento Wash (California). Note Two: The photo view to the Piute Range is due-east, about 13-mi distant (across Lanfair Valley). |
