Summary
[edit]DescriptionNew Years 2021 at Golden Gardens 50.jpg |
English: Every year on New Years Day, people gather at Seattle's Golden Gardens Park. Many burn their leftover Christmas trees (probably not strictly legal, but a longstanding tradition and is tolerated by the City) or take a "Polar Bear Plunge" in the cold waters of Puget Sound. This pandemic year was no exception. People generally tried to maintain social distancing, but few actual masks were in sight. I stayed masked and at a distance; my photos of this are all shot with a relatively long lens.
This man was almost completely covered by his hooded parka and PPE mask, in stark contrast to the many who went swimming that day. |
