| Description |
English: Theft prevention is very strict and rightly so, for this is a curious set of tiles representing the Kaába. Guidebook Strolling through Istanbul states the quality of the tiles is "inferior to those in earlier mosques, the celebrated Iznik tiles of the period 1555-1620. I agree, their designs are rather pedestrian and the spectacular colours are lacking. Still there are many. |
