New Mosque ablutions fountain

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Guidebook Strolling through Istanbul calls this "one of the finest of its kind in the city". I agree. This is a “şadırvan”, literaly “free-flowing fountain”. Often people would do their ablutions there, in this case its just ornamental, as there ritual washings are performed at water-taps along the south wall.
