Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The obverse of a standard New Mexico driver identification card showing an 'X' as gender designator, indicating a neutral alternative to 'M' (male) or 'F' (female).

Unrelatedly, the card is marked 'not intended for federal purposes' to indicate that it is not as proscribed in Public Law 109-13; specifically, while the following features are included:

  • Full legal name
  • Signature
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Unique identifying number [here redacted]
  • Front-facing photograph of the applicant

the remaining requirement to be "Real-ID-compliant" is not:

  • Principal residence address (though displayed on the license [here redacted], there is no document trail to prove the address exists and is occupied by the cardholder).
Also shown is organ donor status; height, weight, and eye colour for suspect identification purposes; the license class and endorsements and restrictions; the issuance and expiration dates, and a background design that also serves as a security feature by using microprinting.
