Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The new isolation hospital in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The facility had its start in the 1860s as the "House of Refuge", a home for "vagrants, the dissolute, and for idiots", later becoming a smallpox hospital during an epidemic during the 1870s. A new structure called the "Riverdale Isolation Hospital" was built on the site in 1904, an establishment that later evolved into the Riverdale Hospital. The institution is now known as Bridgepoint Health and specializes in rehabilitation medicine.
