Description On Aug. 1, NCDOT permanently closed the old Yadkin River Bridge and shifted southbound traffic onto the new I-85 North bridge. Currently, two lanes of traffic in each direction are traveling on the new northbound bridge. NCDOT will move the southbound traffic onto the new I-85 South bridge when construction is complete in April 2013.
