English: New Globe pub sign on the canal Approaching Mile End lock, the pub sign shows an Elizabethan adventurer apparently tracing his voyages on a globe which belies the hostelry's actual date(1821). It serves as a useful reminder to canal users that refreshment lies close at hand - these two however seem to prefer alfresco consumption. |
