English: Lance Cpl. Fredis Coreas, a combat engineer with Bridge Platoon, Alpha Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion and a native of Las Vegas, uses a pickaxe to remove some hardened earth in order prepare an area for the construction of a bridge near Combat Outpost Rankel in the district of Garmsir, Helmand province, Jan. 29. The Marines of Bridge Platoon endured a 5-day convoy in order to replace a temporary bridge with a more permanent structure that would increase mobility for Marines operating in the area. |
